Look around and ye shall find......That person stands out.... they have to be asked they will not come forward....Send me the name of this person.... and i will start working with that person to set up the real metis nation...I have time to spend working for the metis nation...no money required!!!!!!!i volunteer......I have a duty to do my share for the Metis Cause....!!!!!So do yours..now...!!!!!!all i need is the person,s name...!!!!!!(woman...man)...20-----70 yrs........

Fortunat - You raise an interesting point about a Metis homeland/nation. No doubt you have read my comments concerning a "Metis Nation" on Metis Mammas site.
It is difficult to achieve what you are writing about here on your site due to the circumstances the current Metis people now find themselves in.
We belong to a country now called Canada, and like it or not it controlls all the land and makes the laws that we need to obey as Canadians. We lost the right to determine when Riel refused to listen to Dumont on how to fight the government at Batoch. So went our chance at determining for the Metis people our path to the future. It is lost and we can't get it back.
We have to learn now how to work with and become Canadians. Metis nation is a dream for dreamers and will never be reality.
Just look at the crop of "leaders" we have now. All Aboriginal groups in Canada need to realize this and "GET WITH THE PROGRAM". Like it or not we are Canadian with a Metis heritage. Enjoy the bannock, fiddle music, and the jigging but when its all over go back to your job or business in Canadian society to help create a better Canada for everyone.
